Code of Ethics

The Members of the Victoria Apartment Association do hereby adopt a subscribe to, as a basis for continued membership, the following Code of Ethics. Each Member of VAA shall:

• Promote, employ and maintain a high standard of integrity in the performance of all rental obligations and services in the operation of their respective rental properties.
• Maintain and operate such residential rental property in accordance with fair and honorable standards of competition, ever mindful of the purposes and objectives of the Victoria Apartment Association and its Bylaws.
• Strive continually to promote the education and fraternity of the membership and to promote the progress and dignity of the multifamily industry through free enterprise, thereby creating a better image of our industry and providing that the public may be better served.
• Seek to provide better values so that an even greater share of the public may enjoy the may benefits provided by apartment living.
• Establish high ethical standards of conduct by and between all Members of the Apartment Association and others doing business within the multifamily housing industry.
• Endeavor to expose all schemes which tend to mislead or defraud the apartment residing public or fellow Members of the Apartment Association and to aid in the exposure of those responsible.
• Refrain from attempting to obtain apartment residents, or other business, through such means as may be deceptive and/or unwarranted by fact or reasonable probability.
• Not to use the TAA logo on forms other than official TAA lease-related forms or give an incorrect impression that a form is approved by TAA.
• Abide by all national, state and local laws of every kind and nature.
• Not reproduce or reprint any publication or from which is copyrighted by TAA and sold by TAA or the VAA
• Not knowingly use any unlawfully reproduced or reprinted TAA forms or publications.
• Not use the TAA logo in any manner without using the phrase “member of” above and in conjunction with the logo.
• Not infringe upon or violate TAA’s copyright on any official TAA lease forms.

Disciplinary action for any violation of the above Code of Ethics shall be delegated to and shall be the exclusive responsibility of the Victoria Apartment Association’s Board of Directors.
